My time at the DACADU program was an incredible experience that deepened my understanding of virtual reality while allowing me to collaborate with students from other countries. Throughout the week, we explored new technologies, exchanged ideas, and gained hands-on experience with XR applications. One of my favourite moments was when we had the chance to showcase VR and its applications to others. Demonstrating the usage of VR and explaining how it can be integrated with Google Earth was a key highlight for me. Seeing how people reacted to these technologies and how they engaged with immersive environments made me realize the true potential of VR beyond just entertainment—it can be used for navigation, education, and interactive experiences in ways that many people haven’t considered.
Another memorable part of the week was our visit to Frankfurt. Walking through the city, exploring its landmarks, and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere provided a nice balance to our technical sessions. It was a great opportunity to bond with the group and experience the culture of the region. The visit to the h_da campus was also truly inspiring. Seeing the state-of-the-art facilities and the work being done there reinforced my passion for technology and innovation. The program wasn’t just about learning—it was about connecting with like-minded people, sharing knowledge, and gaining new perspectives on how VR can shape the future. This experience has left me feeling motivated to continue exploring XR technologies and to apply what I’ve learned in future projects. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of DACADU and excited to see where these new insights will take me.
I’m a second-year Computer Engineering and Informatics student at the Cyprus University of Technology, passionate about VR, bioinformatics, and AI. I also work at CUTing Edge, compete in European karate championships, and explore new tech ideas through the DACADU program.
